Highlighting internationally acclaimed student and faculty research, the new Visual Arts Center will be a magnet of research and exhibition, drawing students, scholars, and the public together to share and explore the visual arts.

When completed, the Visual Arts Center will feature:

A New Entrance for the Art Building where members of the campus community and beyond can easily gain access to exhibition spaces, administration, classrooms, lecture halls, studios, and faculty offices.

A New Main Lobby that will allow access to the Visual Arts Center from lecture halls, classrooms, faculty offices, and studios.

New Exhibition Galleries presenting a year-round schedule of exhibitions that provide opportunities to view student and faculty work, present scholarly exhibitions, and highlight the Department of Art and Art History.

New Graduate Student Studio Spaces allowing students to pursue a rigorous studio practice in the areas of printmaking, design, transmedia, and photography. These studio spaces will be adjacent to the gallery and exhibition space, allowing interaction and exchange for students.

A New Home for the Mesoamerica Center where students and scholars will gather to research the latest developments in the art, writing, and history of Mesoamerica, in a setting that encourages discussion and exchange.

A New Courtyard for Exhibitions and Events designed as a multi-use space where audiences will view outdoor installation, sculpture, video, and time-based art. Students, faculty, and the community will also use this space for receptions, activities, and events.

A New Administrative Suite where students, faculty, and the public can connect with departmental administration.
